Be A Volunteer

The Jewish Community Centre of Greater Vancouver is proud to host the 2006 JCC Maccabi Games. The success of the Games depends on the involvement of our entire community. More than 1,000 adults will participate in the Games as host families, coaches and volunteers. You can help make these Games memorable --- for our athletes and for our community, now and for years to come.

Volunteers will be required to participate in an orientation prior to the week of the Games. Several dates will be available.

There are many ways to volunteer during Games week:

• Arrivals: airport and bus greeter, registration
  
  
• Athletics: scorekeeping, timers, announcers, officials
  

• Events: Opening Ceremonies & Closing Party, evening social activities
  
  

• Medical: on-call and on-site medical and first aid assistance
  
  
• Hospitality: information tables at athletic venues and hotels
  
  
• Marketing/Publicity: writers, photographers
  
  
• Transportation: bus chaperones and coordinators, traffic control
  

• Food: providing food, snacks, ice and water to athletes

• Days of Caring and Sharing: assist with community service programs
